Heart of the World 28" x 28" / Basswood This carving was made at the request of a 'new thought' minister in Lake Oswego Oregon. As is true with so many personal symbols, there is much more to this piece than can be told by anyone except the one who requested it. Only she knows all of the levels of meaning. On the surface, the symbol for this church shows the world as a heart of pure love. The four borders represent the four directions, balance, and establishing personal boundaries. There is much more, but we can enjoy it simply because it is a beautiful carving of something very special to many people. |
