| North Wind 34" x 20" / Basswood I have memories of being read to in my childhood years. One of these memories was a story about 'old man winter' and his face in the clouds. When I found this piece of wood, something stirred that memory and I knew what I wanted to carve. I had been working with archetypes and symbols of universal energies, and in this piece tried to capture the relative insignificance of man as compared to the incredible power of nature. |
